TRITON XTREME

The enhanced vehicle of your dreams.

The Triton Xtreme is the dynamic design by Walkinshaw Group.

Building on the already exceptional Mitsubishi Triton GSR model, the Xtreme features premium Supashock suspension and a wealth of Walkinshaw Engineering and design upgrades to bring you the enhanced vehicle of your dreams.

Taking a great core product to the next level

The Mitsubishi Triton is a great core product, and we’re excited to take it to the next level, and create something that is quite unique in the marketplace. Enhancing both on and off-road capability was essential when we undertook this programme. We wanted to ensure the car was right for wherever the customer wanted to go in Australia. Combined with the exterior styling and underbody protection, we are really excited to see the Triton Xtreme take to the roads. Not only is it a fantastic looking vehicle with serious presence, but it is pleasure to drive on-road and off-road.

It was great to have Toby Price behind the wheel of the Triton Xtreme to test drive the car, because let’s be honest, who better to validate the off-road and on-road capability than Toby.

Triton Xtreme is a force to be reckoned with. Are you ready?

Outstanding road presence

We wanted a clean confident statement with a muscular wide set stance that would complement Mitsubishi’s own characteristic design language. The widened track and all terrain tyres deliver greatly improved off road ability and handsome custom made 18” x 8.5” forged wheels sit under wide wheel arch flares which make this the toughest Triton to date. Adding to its confident presence are the unique Triton branded Bash plate and Sportsbar pressings which offer additional protection and robustness. The Xtreme graphics pack on the vehicle adds a further distinctive yet clean touch.

2.4 Litre MIVEC Turbo Diesel Engine

At the core of Triton Xtreme sits this refined and super-responsive 2.4L DOHC MIVEC 16 valve common rail intercooled diesel engine. An aluminium cylinder block, and strong yet lightweight materials reduce weight, and with a compression ratio of 15.5:1, it’s among the quietest and most efficient diesel engines on the market contributing to better torque and power across the whole rev range. In fact, we know it will exceed your expectations. Peak power is 133kW at 3500rpm, while torque is an impressive 430Nm at 2500rpm. The lightweight engine achieves low fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, while also delivering outstanding power and performance.

Driver experience

  • Enhanced ride quality – both on and off road (body control and ride comfort)
  • Increased handling dynamics
  • Sharper steering feel and response

Xtreme Suspension

The suspension upgrades, developed in collaboration with Supashock Advanced Suspension, replaced all 4 dampers and has vastly improved the on and off-road capability of the vehicle. The Triton Xtreme includes an upgraded 52mm monotube damper with a 20mm rod design, with the front damper running a remote canister and the rear running a piggyback system. Extensive testing and tuning were conducted off-road in the harsh terrains of outback Australia. The result is a valve code that exceeds in off-road performance, whilst retaining on-road precision, comfort, and handling.

Features such as the 46mm piston give Supashock extreme control over the damping characteristics, and the structural design of the dampers has been bolstered. These factors enabled the Triton Xtreme to maintain high levels of vehicle dynamics, and the Triton’s core towing capabilities at a GVM of 2,900kg, and a GCM of 5,885kg.

The Triton Xtreme’s suspension, wheel and tyre configuration exceeded the performance of the base line vehicle in all aspects.

Outstaning road presence

We believe we hit the mark in designing a predictable and confidence inspiring package, worthy of the Xtreme branding. The real magic is achieving high levels of ride quality, whilst greatly improving the vehicle dynamics in performance and response - both on, and off road.

Mitsubishi Motors’ Anti-lock Braking System allows the driver to maintain steering control of the vehicle and manoeuvre around obstructions in heavy braking situations.

Mitsubishi Motors’ Electronic Brakeforce Distribution works hand-in-hand with your cars Anti-lock Braking Systems computer to assess load and distribute braking force between the front and rear wheels. When you have a load in the rear, it helps you stop in a shorter distance than with standard brakes.

Triton Xtreme

Rear Cross Traffic Alert*

Mitsubishi’s Rear Cross Traffic Alert system helps detect a moving vehicle when reversing. It alerts you via a buzzer sound, plus an indicator light appearing in the combination meter and blinking light in the side door mirror.

*The detection and control capabilities of BSW and LCA are supplementary only and do not warn you of vehicles in blind spot every situation. BSW and LCA may not activate in some situations.

Triton Xtreme

Blind Spot Warning* & Lane Change Assist*

Mitsubishi’s Blind Spot Warning and Lane Change Assist helps you change lanes with confidence. The Lane Change Assist system sounds an audible alert and displays a blinking warning in the door mirror when the system detects a high collision probability with a vehicle coming from behind and moving towards the same direction within 3.5m from your vehicle’s side or 70m from its rear bumper.

*Do not rely solely on this system, which may not detect all moving vehicles in certain conditions.

Triton Xtreme

Lane Departure Warning

Mitsubishi’s Lane Departure Warning uses a camera to issue an audible alert and shows a warning on the multifunction display if your vehicle drifts from its lane while the turn signals are not operating.

Triton Xtreme

Forward Collision Mitigation*

Mitsubishi’s Forward Collision Mitigation system detects obstructions ahead and issues a visual and audio alert when there is a danger of collision, automatically applying the brakes to avoid collision or reduce impact.

*The detection and control capabilities of FCM are supplementary only and do not prevent collisions in every situation. Please read the operation manual carefully and be aware of these limitations.

Triton Xtreme

Hill Descent Control

Mitsubishi’s Hill Descent Control enables you to maintain a constant speed by controlling brake pressure according to the condition of the ground when going down a steep gradient at speeds between 2km/h and 20km/h.

Triton Xtreme

Auto High Beam

Mitsubishi’s Auto High Beam detects both the headlights of oncoming vehicles and the taillights of vehicles ahead, automatically switching between high and low beams.

Triton Xtreme

Ultrasonic misacceleration Mitigation System*

MMitsubishi’s Ultrasonic misacceleration Mitigation System reduces the chance and severity of hitting obstacles 4m in front or behind when a driver mistakenly presses the accelerator when stationary or at speeds up to 10km/h.

*Ultrasonic misacceleration Mitigation System (UMS) may not activate in some conditions. The engine output control activates when driving; 01-10km/h (not in N or P Position); obstacle/vehicle is within approx. 4m range; accelerator pedal is pushed hard or abruptly; driver is not turning to avoid obstacle/vehicle. The detection and control capabilities of UMS are supplementary only and do not prevent misacceleration in every situation.

Triton Xtreme

Multi Around Monitor
